Assist the Project Manager in complying with assigned project schedules and budgets by actively reporting on project progress and by identifying additional work outside of the contractual Scope of Work.
Work with subconsultants under the direction of the Project Manager.
Review calculations, design assumptions, and concepts to assure quality control.
Provide technical input into proposals by developing scope of work, budgets, and schedules by relying on historical information or experience.
Assist in the preparation of technical presentations.
Participate in client meetings and/or technical presentations.
Work effectively and efficiently within established hourly budgets and monitors self-performance.
Develop knowledge of pertinent local, state, and federal regulations.
Prepare permit applications and coordinate with regulators.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients on technical issues by effectively communicating on a frequent and regular basis, as directed by the Project Manager.
Lead fieldwork such as GPS data collection and construction observation.
Assist with construction administration by tracking and reviewing submittals, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, reviewing and compiling daily and weekly construction reports, and tracking construction schedules.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff.
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring for entry-level engineers and interns.
Develop skills in hydraulic modeling with software programs such as WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS.
Develop increasingly effective writing and presentation skills and can present data that supports technical decisions and the rationale for making them.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering disciplines and 4+ years of relevant water/wastewater engineering design experience or a Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline field and 3+ years of relevant design experience.
PE License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT), actively pursuing P.E. registration in Massachusetts or ability to obtain same by reciprocity required.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD. ArcGIS or other associated computer-based technical software preferred.
Valid and clean driver's license.
