About the role

  • A leadership role supporting the ANZ Papua New Guinea providing industry segment oversight for the Resources, Energy and Infrastructure portfolio.
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective end-to-end credit risk analysis function - including structuring, risk analysis, credit approval, transaction execution, review and monitoring processes around an identified portfolio of customers.
  • Industry specific research and ongoing portfolio management functions are also core responsibilities.
  • Coaching and development of staff to uplift credit skills.
  • Provide first line of defence (in conjunction with relationship), to ensure well managed framework, and manage credit risks within the Resources, Energy and Infrastructure portfolio.
  • Role will have management responsibility for staff at the Analyst and/or Associate level and exercise a credit delegation.

Requirements

  • Extensive banking experience and degree qualified in a relevant discipline (such as Accounting, Finance, Law, or Engineering).
  • Proven experience as a People leader is desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of risk, arising from credit risk, market risk, operational risk - across customer, product and country.
  • Credit experience, and prior experience of understanding and applying broader risk disciplines.
  • Highly developed conceptual thinking capabilities and exceptionally strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • A highly motivated, self-directed, team player attitude.
  • A strong understanding of the financial market/industry and competitor activity.
