About the role
- Operational Leadership: Serve as an operations lead for multiple projects, with primary focus on ensuring that permitting and compliance are seamlessly integrated into the project lifecycle.
- Permitting SME Support: Act as the subject matter expert consulting on permitting, guiding teams through regulatory requirements, managing permitting schedules, and proactively resolving permitting challenges to avoid project delays as a client facing key communicator.
- Project Controls: Support in the implementation and monitoring of project control systems, including budget management, and risk assessments. Provide accurate reporting and early warnings for potential deviations.
- Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance permitting and project control processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external agencies to ensure all operational requirements are met and project objectives are achieved.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage project data to inform operational strategies, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Quality & Safety: Uphold the highest standards of safety and quality throughout every phase of project execution.
Requirements
- 3-7+ years of experience in environmental assessments and investigations, permitting & resource management, project operations, or project controls, specifically in utility-scale solar or power generation.
- Experience with environmental and land-use permitting for large energy projects.
- Familiarity with watershed & water resource management and civil workflows for utility-scale solar.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- Experienced in project operations, permitting processes, and project controls within the engineering or construction industries.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Skilled communicator who thrives on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
- Innovative problem-solver with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.
