In the last few years, software businesses have gone from not having to worry about sales tax, to needing to monitor their exposure, calculate local sales tax rates, and file returns in over 20 US states and many countries worldwide.

Companies should be able to transact with customers everywhere. Anrok is building the tools behind the scenes that make compliant digital commerce a reality for companies big and small.
  • Anrok connects with billing and payment systems to automate sales tax compliance end-to-end. We have raised over $50M from leading investors like Sequoia, Index, and Khosla Ventures.
  • This role is key in Anrok’s success, and owns all of our efforts to push our filing automation as far as it can go, and partner with internal teams to help improve the overall efficiency of manual filing. You have the opportunity to craft and implement processes for an effective team, prioritize the roadmap, and coach and develop engineers. We work primarily in TypeScript and React, but prior experience is not required.
  • In this role, you will: Work on and manage a talented team building innovative filing products. Set the product and technical strategy and implement processes for high quality execution. Recruit and mentor engineers. Foster a collaborative and healthy culture of feedback, opportunity, and growth for the team. Contribute to the Anrok engineering culture and initiatives. FInd appropriate uses of AI in both the creation of automations or as the automation itself

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, with significant experience as a software engineer.
  • Track record of figuring out how to set individuals and teams up for success.
  • You are technical enough to guide the team through product and technical decisions.
