About the role
- Business development and marketing activities in US/Canada for Synchronous Condensers business and Grid Stability;
- Customer relationship management inclusive of key account management;
- Visit customers and consultants regularly to establish close relationships with key contacts;
- Requires new market entry points and establishing contacts with customers in the transmission space that the hydropower division does not currently interface with;
- Understand and communicate customer needs to the internal teams in order to define the best sales strategies for the projects;
- Establish pre-bid strategies and influence customer specifications and contracting models prior to RFP issuance;
- Regularly follow-up with customers to track and prioritize future project lists and identify resource and R&D requirements;
- Communicate at all levels of the customer organization to keep a high visibility for ANDRITZ;
- Work in close collaboration with the proposal team to produce a winning proposal that meets or exceeds customer expectations;
- Prepare budget offers to customers with support from the proposal team;
- Organization or participation in external seminars and conferences;
- Maintain all Sales Reporting tools & CRM with latest data from the customers and the market;
- Presentations to customers on ANDRITZ product and service offering;
- Competitor and customer intelligence tracking;
- Support monthly and quarterly reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or must have relevant experience;
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business development or customer account management in a similar industry (preferred transmission industry with established contacts);
- Demonstrated success in securing orders and building customer relationships on a long term basis;
- Knowledge of commercial contracts and technical specification process for equipment sales;
- Effective communication skills (oral & written) in a multi-stakeholder environment – required: English / French;
- Willing to travel extensively, mainly across US and inclusive of Canada – up to 50%;
- Result oriented, independent, innovative, and dynamic;
- Knowledge of products, technical aspects and market related to grid stability and synchronous condenser business desired (an asset);
- Ability to build up & create an efficient contact network.
