About the role
- Assist in power supply resource portfolio planning, modeling and market analysis for Municipal Electric Systems.
- Builds and maintains Excel spreadsheets and databases for planning, budgeting and load forecasting purposes.
- Assists in development of power resource portfolios for member Municipal Electric System communities.
- Analyzes and evaluates power supply options including power purchases and generation projects (including wind, solar, storage, diesel, natural gas and hydro).
- Provides analysis of natural gas and electric energy market for market purchases and sales strategies.
- Develops long and short term energy usage forecasts for Member Municipal Electric System communities.
- Prepares written documents and presentations for education, information and marketing of power supply projects and portfolios.
- Presents power supply positions and strategies to internal staff and Members.
- Develops and reviews electric power supply contracts with suppliers and Members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of a four-year degree in engineering, business, economics, data analytics, mathematics or related fields.
- Knowledge of electric power preferred, but not required. Understanding energy and commodity pricing concepts is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communications skills required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite products especially Excel, Power Point and Access.
- Must be a self-starter, customer focused and have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must be highly accurate and detail oriented and have excellent project management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Must successfully complete FERC Standards of Conduct compliance training within 30 days of employment.
