About the role
- Our Civil Engineers play an important part within the Design team and alongside our client, Transport Scotland.
- As a Civil Engineer, you will provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on a variety of road schemes whilst taking the lead on projects and mentoring junior designers.
- To lead a team and to deliver technically robust engineering solutions that meet all relevant standards and client requirements.
- This includes preparing and checking designs, calculations, drawings and documentation to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective outputs delivered to programme and support work‑winning activities through bid preparation.
Requirements
- Developed experience and expertise within Highways/Civil engineering field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures relevant to the civil engineering discipline
- An ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound Highways engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
- Experience in undertaking project related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- Successful completion of the initial professional development leading to either Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence and to the level defined by their education.
- A demonstrable commitment to their plan of actions and key dates leading to successful completion of either the professional review or end point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence
- Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning
- EngTech status is desirable, gained through the professional institution to which the individual is aligned.
