About the role

  • Work closely with Senior Engineers on a variety of structures schemes.
  • Support and guide junior members of the team on technical matters and scheme delivery.
  • Produce technically sound engineering solutions.
  • Manage and technically deliver projects from start to finish.
  • Prepare designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation as part of scheme deliverables.
  • Contribute to the professional development of junior staff.
  • Liaise with clients and supplier representatives at peer level.
  • Contribute to the preparation of bids and general work-winning functions.
  • Drive effective Health and Safety practices within the team.

Requirements

  • Developing experience in the structures field, probably gained in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
  • Understanding of DMRB and Eurocodes with respect to highway bridge design, strengthening, refurbishment, and assessment.
  • Ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client’s requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools (e.g., LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design).
  • Evidence in working toward Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE, or an equivalent professional licence.
