About the role
- Provide effective support and assistance to your Design Team Leader on Structures schemes
- Lead projects and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation
- Oversee the actions of more junior staff
- Contribute to the professional development of junior staff
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level
- Manage a small, locally based, single-discipline technical team
- Contribute to the preparation of bids and work-winning function
- Drive effective Health and Safety practices within the team
Requirements
- Developed experience and expertise within the Structures field
- Ability to produce or oversee technically sound engineering solutions
- Ownership for preparation and checking of deliverables
- Very good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools (e.g LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
- Good commercial awareness
- Understanding of CDM and risk assessment
- Experience in management and communication of hazards and risks
- Good understanding of interface management
- Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE (or equivalent)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning
