About the role

  • Develop, implement and maintain IT portfolio management strategies and methodologies
  • Track and analyse performance of the IT portfolio, including risk and return
  • Monitor and control portfolio risks and issues, resolving or escalating as necessary
  • Collaborate with resource managers to manage resource risk across the portfolio
  • Promote continuous improvement in portfolio management practices
  • Report the status, value, and importance of IT projects to executive leadership
  • Provide guidance to project teams on dependencies and governance
  • Validate new IT demand through agreed governance frameworks
  • Provide practical advice to take advantage of new opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, IT, computer science, or related area, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant certification in PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) or equivalent
  • Professional experience of IT Portfolio Management focusing on service-based technology and implementations i.e. SaaS
  • Expertise in stakeholder management, engaging with executive sponsors and senior leaders
  • Experience in large, complex organizations and dealing with ambiguity
  • Significant experience in Project Management at a Principle/Programme level
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, such as waterfall, Agile, or Scrum
  • Understanding of business operations, financial management, risk management
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Experience in implementing transformations and leading change initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle ambiguity
