About the role
- Biotech and pharmaceutical public equity coverage and research of both commercial and development stage drug candidates.
- Conduct rigorous scientific, clinical, statistical, manufacturing, patent, regulatory due diligence - quickly distilling what information may impact investment thesis.
- Generate investment recommendations: thesis, risk-reward, supporting evidence, and catalysts.
- Build and maintain therapeutic class, disease area, regulatory precedents databases.
- Drive valuation conclusions through revenue builds, financial models, comp sheets.
- Continually refine thesis and research processes.
- Communicate effectively research and new developments in a timely manner.
Requirements
- 5+ years in the biotechnology/ pharmaceutical sector either in clinical, scientific, financial services, or industry capacity.
- 2+ years of experience as a buyside investment analyst covering biotech/ pharmaceuticals.
- Proven ability to interpret clinical and scientific data and translating findings into investment implications and recommendations.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical abilities.
- Experience with private investments and derivatives (preferred).
- Experience with advanced data analysis/ coding/ modeling (preferred).
- Advanced degree (Doctorate/ Masters) (preferred).
