About the role
- Support Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ registered investment companies under the direction of an attorney
- Perform on-going legal and regulatory activities for registered investment companies
- Coordinate creation, updating, and filing of registration statement post-effective amendments containing prospectuses and SAIs (including annual updates and supplements)
- Prepare other disclosure documents required by the Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933 and Exchange Act of 1934
- Solicit and coordinate input to disclosure documents from product, marketing, fund administration, compliance, investment personnel, outside counsel and outside accountants
- Provide legal and regulatory support for the investment advisory business, including collective investment trusts, SEC compliance, Ameriprise Financial entities and corporate governance matters
- Work closely with Asset Management Legal in the General Counsel’s Organization and cross-functional business teams
- Be part of a team of lawyers and paralegals supporting Columbia Threadneedle Investments; role to be filled in Minneapolis, MN or Boston, MA
Requirements
- Associates degree plus paralegal certificate or Bachelor’s degree equivalent
- 3-5 years experience supporting an asset management business is preferred
- Ability to interpret, analyze and apply legal requirements applicable to registered investment companies
- Mature, professional demeanor
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully manage several ongoing assignments
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing and problem solving skills
