Underwriter

• Management of offshore underwriting resources
• Comprehensive review of income, credit, liabilities, and assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to agency and company guidelines
• Ensure high quality underwriting production and alignment with AmeriHome/Western Alliance Bank policies and service expectations
• Hands-on management, prioritizing assignments, and ability to work with a large team of staff members
• Understand and adhere to the Bank's policies and procedures, and all laws, rules, regulatory and compliance regulations
• Manage underwriters to ensure mortgage loans are underwritten following proper guidelines
• Ensure team members are fully trained and current on company’s philosophy and policies/procedures
• Manage and review day-to-day tasks escalated by team
• Conduct underwriting review process to minimize the company's risk while employing problem resolution techniques in approving loans
• Train, coach and supervise all underwriters to the application of all company overlays and agency requirements
• Evaluate the structure of the Underwriting team and plan for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments
• Lead and develop a team: responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development
