About the role

  • Direct and oversee all software configuration and release management activities for the Software Support Activity (SSA).
  • Manage multiple SCM teams, ensuring integrity, control, and traceability of software assets.
  • Act as the central point of contact between management, vendors, development teams, and stakeholders.
  • Define, implement, and enhance the Release Management process and associated artifacts.
  • Manage and coordinate release deployments, facilitating post-deployment validation.
  • Proactively manage and control changes to software documents and versions.
  • Collaborate with management and vendors for process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with vendor Software Development Plans (SDP) and NAVAIR Software Engineering department Standard Work Packages (SWPs).

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience managing multiple Software Configuration Management (SCM) teams across various platforms is required.
  • Proven management experience in determining the readiness of products for release and effectively managing release communications with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, scope definition, and environment provisioning, particularly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CM-related tools is essential, including JIRA, DOORS, and Confluence.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience within the Department of Defense, particularly with NAVAIR processes and standards, is highly desirable.
