About the role
- Review completed service work orders for accuracy and completeness
- Verify labor hours, parts used, and expenses against job tickets and purchase orders
- Generate and issue invoices in accordance with company billing policies and customer agreements
- Resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with Service Manager, Service Coordinators, and customers
- Maintain organized billing records for audit and reporting purposes
- Support accounts receivable with invoice corrections, credits, and re-bills as needed
- Assist in month-end closing activities, ensuring all service jobs are invoiced within deadlines
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing inquiries
- Provide reporting on invoicing activity and outstanding billing issues to management
Requirements
- Prior billing or accounting experience within a service-based company (e.g., field service, maintenance, repair, or similar industries.)
- Strong understanding of how service jobs flow from scheduling to completion to invoicing
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing financial and job data
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments (service, parts, accounting)
- Problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving discrepancies
