Provide leadership for staff whose primary tasks are the adjudication and settlement of the most technically challenging claims.

Maintain awareness of existing and proposed legislation, court decisions and latest trends in claims litigation to monitor compliance and recommend procedure changes.
Direct claims managers and staff on all aspects of claims handling including those related to coverage and escalated through the team.
Review, evaluate and maintain file-handling processes to meet company and statutory guidelines.
Participate in corporate claims initiatives including quality file handling, process improvement, training, and development of staff.
Prepare and manage annual operating budget and help prepare business plans.
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.
Demonstrated claims handling experience and licensing.
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of office and field claim handling processes.
Demonstrated thorough understanding of policy language, coverages and underwriting intent.
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere company productivity guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to recognize developing problems/conflicts and ability to resolve.
Ability to prepare and manage annual operating budget and help prepare business plans.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Must reside within approximately 35-50 miles of Madison, WI or Phoenix, AZ, or Boston, MA.

Preferred: extensive litigation experience across all lines of business.
