About the role
- Provide leadership and management direction of a claim adjusting team
- Investigate and maintain property/casualty claims
- Determine liability, secure information, review coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims
- Direct conformity with the terms of each policy and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, established standards, and procedures of the company
- Report to the Adjusting Services Senior Manager
- Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment
- Support an environment of teaming where adjusters make decisions and close files
- Comply with Unfair Claims Practices Acts and ensure claims handling in good faith
- Establish, communicate, and implement departmental plans, objectives, and strategies
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently at a location removed from immediate supervision
- Solid knowledge of property casualty insurance/claim industry and regulatory environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex losses in situations that require tact, diplomacy, and persuasion under changing conditions
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of office and field claim handling processes
- Demonstrated thorough understanding policy language, coverages and underwriting intent
- Demonstrated experience in a claim administrator, specialist, examiner, or role with equivalent exhibited knowledge, skills, and performance
