About the role
- Assist in the design of site development projects, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadway access, and erosion and sediment control.
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare supporting technical documentation.
- Develop construction drawings and details in coordination with CAD designers.
- Apply sound engineering judgment to design challenges and constructability considerations.
- Support multiple site development projects from concept through construction.
- Assist with preparation of project scopes, schedules, and labor hour estimates.
- Participate in design coordination meetings with project teams and clients.
- Provide construction phase support, including responses to RFIs and review of submittals.
- Assist with preparation and submittal of permitting and approval applications.
- Coordinate with local agencies, utilities, and regulatory authorities.
- Address plan review comments and assist in resolving regulatory issues.
- Coordinate with surveyors, planners, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with project managers and senior engineers.
- Support internal quality control and adhere to company design standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5–15 years of professional experience in civil engineering with a focus on site development
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required, PE licensure a plus
- Working knowledge of site development design practices and permitting processes
- Experience with stormwater management concepts and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and standard engineering software tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability or experience to perform as a Civil Project Lead including managing other engineers and designers on smaller projects
