About the role
- Implements and maintains a safe workplace program and ensures that safety is the highest priority
- Communicates professionally with the National Science Foundation, station management, other contractors, and subordinates
- Plans, establishes goals, prioritizes and schedules work center tasks and work assignments
- Receives requests and schedules personnel and assets to meet planned requirements
- Effectively lead teams to achieve departmental goals
- Ensures all personnel are trained to safely perform their assigned tasks
- Completes pre-season and end-of-season team member performance evaluations
- Coordinates with the Vehicle Maintenance facility and Operations Manager to plan equipment maintenance and repairs
- Maintains accurate inventory and assures adequate materials are on hand for planned work
- Complies with and ensures all team members understand and comply with ASC Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
- 1 year of prior supervisory/leadership experience
- Experience in leading and managing heavy equipment operations or construction projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Class A CDL preferred
- Prior cold-climate equipment operations experience preferred
- Prior experience in building/maintaining roads, highways, or airfields preferred
- Rigging certifications, knowledge or experience preferred
