About the role
- Review physician orders, H&P’s, and Progress Notes for accuracy and compliance components.
- Fix and update medical orders for those errors within scope of practice.
- Provide technical guidance to visiting staff and clinical management in creating medical orders and maneuvering through the electronic records system.
- Responsible to meet Agency, State and Federal deadlines for obtaining physician signature on medical orders.
- Follow up and insure the return of delinquent F2F Orders.
- Identify problems related to such orders processing, including insurance and regulatory requirements and follow up to insure timely processing.
- Triage Medical Order phone calls and email requests.
- Perform Medical Order functions including: filing, computer input, printing, and mail processing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services/Administrator.
Requirements
- ICD10 Coding training/experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Home Care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience navigating clinical information system networks required.
- Background in working with Medicare regulations in Home Care.
- Proficient word processing, keyboarding, and data entry computer skills required.
- One (1) year medical data processing experience preferred.
- Minimum of an Associate Degree preferred.
- Home Care Coding Specialist-Diagnosis (HCS-D) preferred.
