About the role

  • Analyze financial data and track project costs
  • Ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines
  • Assess loan disbursements and monitor expenses
  • Generate reports to help mitigate financial risks
  • Visit construction sites monthly to review contractor and subcontractor progress claims
  • Assist in the delivery of pre-development services to establish project feasibility and risk identification
  • Collaborate with senior staff to establish and track project budget
  • Facilitate preparation and submission of preliminary report to the lender
  • Review construction contracts to minimize completion risks
  • Ensure compliance with the Provincial Lien Act in payment certification

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, or a related field
  • 0-1 year of relevant industry experience
  • Membership with CIQS is preferred
  • Understanding of construction methodology, development, contracting, and consulting sectors
  • Familiarity with the Provincial Lien Act and standard contract conditions (CCDC)
  • Ability to prepare, review, and summarize technical reports
  • Willingness to learn and use tools such as EstateMaster, CostX, OnScreen Takeoff, AutoCAD, Timberline, Excel, Word, Digitizer, and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of site safety, including fall protection, and an understanding of construction schedules
