About the role
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns
- Utilize tax software platforms including UltraTax, Drake, Canopy, Accounting CS, and Thomson Reuters tools
- Review tax work completed by remote accounting staff and ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide guidance and feedback to remote team members to maintain quality standards
- Identify errors, inconsistencies, or compliance issues in tax filings and correct as needed
- Coordinate tax preparation workflows to ensure deadlines are met during peak tax seasons
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Communicate with firm leadership regarding tax issues, timelines, and workload management
- Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency across the tax preparation workflow
Requirements
- 6+ years of tax preparation and review experience within a public accounting firm
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns
- Hands-on experience with UltraTax, Drake, Canopy, Accounting CS, or Thomson Reuters tax software
- Ability to review and manage tax preparation completed by remote accounting staff
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- CPA or CPA-track candidates strongly preferred.
