About the role

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
  • Manage multiple client engagements and ensure timely completion of tax filings
  • Utilize tax preparation software including **UltraTax, Drake, or Canopy** to complete returns and manage documentation
  • Review financial records and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients and internal leadership
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide guidance on tax-related matters
  • Assist with tax notices, correspondence, and compliance matters when needed
  • Maintain organized documentation and adhere to internal workflow processes
  • Collaborate with other accounting staff to support efficient tax season operations

Requirements

  • 4+ years of tax preparation experience in a **public accounting environment**
  • Strong experience preparing **individual and business tax returns**
  • Proficiency with **UltraTax, Drake, or Canopy** (at least one required)
  • Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and supporting tax documentation
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines during peak tax season
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
