About the role
- Review individual, partnership, S-corp, and corporate tax returns prepared by offshore staff
- Identify technical errors, compliance risks, and missed planning opportunities
- Develop proactive tax strategies that benefit clients
- Improve internal review workflows and operational processes
- Provide guidance, training, and constructive feedback to remote team members
- Communicate directly with clients regarding complex tax matters
- Review and adjust QuickBooks financials to ensure tax readiness
- Support refinement of systems to improve turnaround time and accuracy
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Canopy, Drake, and/or UltraTax (Thomson Reuters)
- Solid working knowledge of QuickBooks
- Experience reviewing tax returns, not just preparing them
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a remote, process-driven environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to operate independently without micromanagement
- Preferred Qualifications: CPA license or CPA eligibility
- Experience working with distributed or offshore teams
- Experience in small to mid-sized public accounting firms
