About the role
- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for cases
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
- Interview clients and witnesses, maintaining communication records
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations and assist in updating the legal team
- Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar (required)
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis
- Demonstrates strong time management skills
- Capable of organizing case files and understanding the discovery process
- Skilled in communicating with clients and maintaining records of interactions
- Well-versed in legal ethics and standards of professional conduct
- Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques
