About the role

  • Lead and grow a team of Data Scientists and Product Analysts, fostering a high-performing, and collaborative environment
  • Set technical direction and team vision, aligning ML initiatives with business and product strategy
  • Act as a technical partner for stakeholders, translating business problems into well-scoped ML initiatives and priorities
  • Guide the team in designing, delivering and maintaining scalable, production-ready ML solutions
  • Drive effective execution by setting priorities, delegating work and removing technical and organizational blockers
  • Oversee ML project delivery, ensuring sound technical decisions, efficient resource usage and timely outcomes
  • Mentor and coach engineers, supporting technical growth, ownership and senior-level decision-making
  • Provide regular feedback and performance guidance, supporting individual development paths
  • Partner with senior leadership on team planning, hiring and learning & development initiatives, balancing delivery with long-term technical excellence

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams
  • Strong technical background in data science or data analysis
  • Able to work closely with business stakeholders, translating technical work into business value and risk
  • Experience in data analysis using SQL and building machine learning solutions in production environments, especially with end-to-end experience in designing ML models
  • Ability to program in Python and efficiently use basic development tools
  • Understanding of statistical and machine learning methods
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of Generative AI and Agentic AI principles (coding tools, prompting, validation)
  • Graduated with a degree strongly related to statistical/mathematical modeling, such as Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science (or similar major) or job experience in data science / ML positions
