About the role

  • Produce high-quality legal translations, support continuous improvement of linguistic processes, and actively participate in innovation, including integrating artificial intelligence into translation workflows.
  • Translate complex legal documents from English into French with accuracy, clarity, and fidelity to the source text.
  • Ensure terminological consistency, compliance with legal standards, and adherence to clients’ specific expectations.
  • Work closely with editors, lawyers, and project managers to guarantee the final quality of deliverables.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of terminology databases, style guides, and neural translation tools (Alexa Translations AI).
  • Provide constructive feedback and help share best linguistic practices within the team.
  • Support language training and knowledge-transfer initiatives for internal and external teams.
  • Take part in optimizing translation processes and quality standards.
  • Keep abreast of relevant legal, terminological, and technological developments in the field.
  • Contribute to the effective integration of AI-driven workflows with human expertise.

Requirements

  • University degree in translation (English–French) with a specialization in law.
  • Member of a recognized professional association (e.g., OTTIAQ, ATIO, or the equivalent for the English–French language combination).
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal sector.
  • Superior command of both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Proficiency with CAT tools (notably Phrase) and a strong interest in AI applied to translation.
  • Excellent analytical skills, linguistic rigor, and attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, autonomous, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience translating complex legal documents from English into French.
  • Experience in a translation agency, an in-house language service, a law firm, or a regulated environment.
