About the role

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports for internal leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the VP Finance on statutory filings and maintain strong communication with regulatory authorities and external auditors.
  • Manage end-to-end financial operations, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Implement, maintain, and enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Be responsible for preparations for annual audits.
  • Prepare and file accurate tax returns in compliance with Dutch tax laws.
  • Partner with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities.
  • Serve as the functional lead for our migration from Exact Online to a new, scalable ERP system.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Partner with our IT team to implement "Automation First" workflows, reducing manual entry through API integrations for bank feeds, expenses, and AP/AR.
  • Provide financial insights, scenario analyses, and data-driven recommendations to VPs and managers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor during our scale-up phase, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
  • +3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role; experience in scale-ups, SaaS, or high-growth tech environments is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory compliance. Ability to learn
  • Excellent command of English (our main working language).
  • High proficiency with financial systems and ERP software (Exact experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Hands-on mindset and eagerness to continuously learn and adapt.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model, collaborating effectively with remote teammates.
  • You should feel comfortable working in a multicultural, English-speaking environment.
