About the role
- Run accurate, on-time bi-weekly payroll using ADP or Rippling across multiple federal contracts and states
- Manage payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including SCA wage determinations, health & welfare fringe benefits, and multi-state tax compliance
- Process deductions, garnishments, benefits contributions, and mid-cycle adjustments
- Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and maintain clean payroll records
- Prepare and submit invoices through the Federal Invoice Processing Platform (IPP)
- Coordinate payroll data, labor categories, rates, and hours to produce accurate contract billings
- Track contract funding, CLINs, and billing status to ensure timely government payments
- Support audit inquiries related to payroll, labor distribution, and invoicing
- Maintain the general ledger with accurate payroll journal entries and reconciliations
- Support monthly close activities for payroll, labor costs, and contract-related expenses
- Assist with indirect rate tracking, burden calculations, and provisional billing rate support as needed
- Keep payroll, accounting, and compliance documentation organized and audit-ready
- Ensure all payroll and accounting processes comply with FAR, SCA, FLSA, and internal controls
- Produce management reports on payroll costs, labor utilization, and contract profitability
- Coordinate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and compensation changes
- Support both internal and external audits
Requirements
- 5+ years of payroll and accounting experience in federal contracting or government services
- Hands-on experience with ADP or Rippling payroll platforms
- Working knowledge of the Federal Invoice Processing Platform (IPP)
- Strong command of payroll compliance: SCA wage determinations, FLSA, multi-state payroll regulations
- Proficiency in Excel and payroll/accounting reporting tools
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently
- Experience with DCAA-compliant timekeeping, cost accounting, and incurred cost submissions (Strongly Preferred)
- Background supporting federal healthcare or professional services contracts (Strongly Preferred)
- Familiarity with labor category structures, contract billing models, and indirect rate management (Strongly Preferred)
- Experience in a multi-entity or high-growth organization where you wore multiple hats (Strongly Preferred)
