About the role
- Formulate strategy, improve performance, procure material and resources, and secure compliance
- Mentor team members and implement best practices across all levels
- Work with customers to qualify their shipping requirements and obtain necessary regulations, certificates, and documentation
- Prepare profitable quotations accurately
- Set shipping schedules and communicate with customers, deliverers, and ports to verify loading, departures and arrivals
- Coordinate day-to-day import and/or export of products, including reviewing orders and documents
- Track and communicate delays, damages, problems and resolve customer issues
- Manage all aspects of air and/or ocean international operations including customer service, data entry of shipments, operations and billing
- Track shipments to ensure they are moving as scheduled and update system upon verification
- Identify and rectify shipments deviating from schedule
- Coordinate recovery/delivery schedules with cartage agents and international partners
- Partner with local sales teams to communicate problems to customers, international partners and other stations
- Ensure customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met
- Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Operations Manager or similar role
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Experience budgeting and forecasting
- Familiarity with business and financial principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership ability
