About the role
- Lead financial operations, drive process automation, and ensure compliance with local regulations as part of Airwallex China Finance team.
- Review financial statements, regulatory filings, and statutory compliance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors for audits and tax filings.
- Improve financial controls and reporting processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency.
- Lead filing of China tax returns, including transfer pricing documentation.
- Design and implement tax-efficient structures aligned with business goals.
- Advise on tax implications of product launches, cross-border deals and other business activities.
- Drive system automation initiatives to optimize finance operations and achieve efficiency.
- Mentor and lead finance team to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Take up ad hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or related field; China CPA/ACCA or equivalent certification.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in internet industries finance/accounting, preferably within payment or fintech.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and tax optimization strategies.
- Strong communicator with fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
- Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); data analysis skills (e.g., Power BI/SQL) are a plus.
- Big 4 auditing experience is plus
