About the role
- An energetic and value-driven Finance expert required to support fast growth of CFC USA and CFC Canada; main finance contact for central accounting and controls team onshore and trusted expert to local Executive Management team.
- Responsible for timely reporting to and delivery of financial data requests for North American senior management.
- Ensure P&L and cash flows are optimized, including margin enhancement and providing input into local growth strategies; support proposals with robust business cases and financial projections.
- Provide KPI insights to the CFC Group and collaborate with Group Revenue and Actuarial teams.
- Contribute to annual budget, monthly re-forecasting, and long-term plan tracking; liaise with internal stakeholders.
- Support central accounts to close CFC USA and CFC Canada accounting records accurately and timely each month, ensuring local insight for accruals and prepayments.
- Support central controls to establish an Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework for CFC USA and CFC Canada, update local process documentation, identify key risks and mitigating controls, and support monthly internal control reporting.
- Ensure all Group finance policies are adhered to and provide reporting to central accounts team as required.
- Act as main contact for Group Finance on financial matters related to CFC USA and CFC Canada, including IBA and Tax related matters.
- Act as main contact for all staff in North America for financial queries or concerns and be point of contact for Group Finance on the ground.
- Work with Group Procurement on supplier optimization and maximizing expense saving opportunities on 3rd party costs.
Requirements
- Well, given the nature of the role we're looking for a qualified Accountant (CPA or equivalent) with experience in the Insurance/Insurtech/Fintech sector, and any experience working in a private equity backed business would also be beneficial.
- Advanced financial-modelling experience (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement modelling).
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with large datasets.
- Motivated by meeting tight deadlines with high standards, and enjoy change and challenge.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, interacting regularly with executive-level management and non-financial managers.
- First Finance hire in North America; ability to work with self-direction and autonomy while being a team player.
- Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software and planning tools advantageous; expertise in Power BI highly welcomed.
