About the role
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s global tax strategy, focusing on cross-border structures, transfer pricing, intercompany arrangements, and international operations.
- Design and implement tax-efficient structures that support new market entry, global expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive planning and execution for intellectual property ownership, licensing, and intercompany arrangements to optimize both tax and business outcomes.
- Monitor global tax developments and proactively assess impacts to business operations, ensuring compliance and strategic readiness.
- Provide tax guidance for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, including pre-acquisition diligence, deal structuring, post-acquisition integration, and remediation of sales tax or indirect tax issues.
- Support entity restructuring and other corporate initiatives to drive operational and tax efficiency.
- Oversee U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax compliance, including indirect taxes such as VAT, GST, and sales tax.
- Manage the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision process, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and audit preparedness.
- Implement process improvements and leverage technology to enhance efficiency, scalability, and governance within global tax operations.
- Lead and mentor the global tax team, fostering professional growth and building a high-performing function.
- Act as a key advisor to executives and senior business leaders on strategic initiatives, treasury, and intellectual property matters.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities around the world.
- Ensure strong governance, documentation, and defense strategies for global tax positions.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks while staying aligned with evolving international regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- 15–20 years of progressive tax experience, including senior leadership roles in multinational corporations and/or Big 4 advisory firms.
- Deep technical expertise in U.S. federal taxation, international tax planning, intellectual property strategy, and ASC 740 accounting.
- Proven track record in structuring international entities, managing transfer pricing, and supporting global expansion.
- Significant experience in tax structuring, diligence, and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters into clear, actionable business guidance.
- CPA and/or JD/LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred; prior public company experience required.
