About the role

  • Design and build systems that dramatically increase the scalability and performance of all applications built on Airtable.
  • Work at the deep backend of the Airtable software stack within the Enterprise Product portion of the org.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to understand the needs of potential users and build a product that unlocks their potential.
  • Work alongside and learn from a talented group of engineers with a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry experience with modern systems development, ideally database internals development.
  • Interest in programming in TypeScript and Rust.
  • Excitement for a product-oriented backend role, i.e. not pure Infrastructure.
  • Understanding of modern web technologies and large-scale web application architecture.
  • Background in computer science or a related field.
  • Belief that the best product helps users accomplish their goals while growing the business.
  • Thoughtful approach to decision making; knowing when to move fast and when to do things right.
  • Strong ownership instincts and attention to detail.
