About the role

  • Support the coordination, preparation, and testing of packaging configurations.
  • Support any activities related to packaging design verification/validation and packaging shelf-life documents per FDA guidelines.
  • Support packaging improvement projects to achieve project timelines.
  • Collaborate with external partners such as suppliers and test laboratories to ensure timely and compliant execution of packaging activities.
  • SME for Regulatory Gap Assessments and maintaining packaging specific SOPs and WI.
  • Assist in maintaining Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO Compliance.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the packaging design and development processes used for medical devices.
  • Experience with packaging engineering standards, test methods and ISO requirements.
  • Experience in packaging or labeling in a medical device or similar regulated industry.
  • Proficiency with standard computer software.
  • Displays effective written and verbal communication skills as well as active listening skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD software is required, and experience with SolidWorks is desired.
  • Technical writing skills are desired.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and international (must have the ability to obtain a passport).
  • 0-2 years of Packaging Engineering experience within a regulated environment such as food, pharmaceutical or medical device is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or other engineering discipline; typically two (2) or more years in packaging development experience.
