Implement, and operate resilient and scalable distributed systems
Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners including software engineers, product managers, operations and data scientists, identify opportunities for business impact, understand, refine, and prioritize requirements for engineering systems, drive engineering decisions, and quantify impact.
Hands-on prototype, develop, productionize, and test solutions and defenses to existing and emerging fraud trends.
Support teammates in enabling code quality, operational excellence, and shared learning
Be part of an impactful team working on scaling distributed applications in a highly-available 24x7 environment, make architectural trade-offs applying design patterns and disciplined execution
Partner with other engineering teams in Airbnb to serve our users holistically.

Requirements

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
3-5 years industry experience
Strong hands on coding, data structures and algorithm experience using Java or Kotlin
Exposure to architectural patterns of a high-scale web applications, such as well-designed APIs, data pipelines
Experience in building and scaling high-quality and high-traffic products (or systems).
Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems.
Experience or desire to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with design, product and data science partners
Passionate about AI with experience and strong grasp of current trends in Generative AI, LLMs, and related technologies.
Experience with the Trust and Risk domain is a plus.
