About the role
- The Publishing Director provides strategic leadership for a defined segment of the AIP Publishing journal portfolio
- Responsible for the performance, development, and growth of the journals within their portfolio
- Contributes to portfolio strategy and leads its execution within the assigned portfolio segment
- Leads and develops a team of Publishers and Associate Publishers and works closely with Editors, society partners, and cross-functional teams
- Applies an enterprise lens to portfolio performance, balancing editorial priorities, community needs, and financial outcomes
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in scholarly publishing or a related field with increasing responsibility for journal or portfolio development
- Experience managing publishing staff and leading teams
- Experience working with editors, editorial boards, and/or society partners
- Experience overseeing journal financial performance, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Advanced degree in relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience preferred.
