About the role

  • The Reinsurance Officer coordinates with the various departments involved in the reinsurance process
  • Collate the data required to prepare the submission package
  • Work with the Legal Department to draft and review the reinsurance contract wording
  • Coordinate the availability of documents and reports for claims, underwriting and transactional audits
  • Evaluate and consider treaty reinsurance quotes and indications
  • Negotiate the transaction to support AIG’s business requirements
  • Coordinate and track execution of contract wordings
  • Summarize Treaty Terms and Schematics and distribute internally as needed
  • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with reinsurance brokers and reinsurance markets
  • Support compliance by maintaining appropriate documentation
  • Understanding Profit Centre business strategy and reinsurance objectives
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regional security policy
  • Manage the special exception process when appropriate
  • Coordinate and manage all external reinsurance underwriting audits

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Reinsurance related experience
  • ARe and/or CPCU preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong presentation development and executive communication skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint capabilities with a strong ability to synthesize complex data into concise, impactful presentations
  • Proven ability to create and deliver high-quality presentations for senior leadership and C-suite audiences
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quantitative skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with various internal stakeholders, including underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance and IT departments
  • Ability to travel as required (10%)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
