About the role
- Underwriting and managing an existing book of traditional power and renewable energy risks
- Developing and underwriting a pipeline of new business opportunities across the country
- Collaborating with peers in other regions and providing technical underwriting support on existing accounts
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients
- Communicating our value proposition with our brokers and clients
- Identifying future industry trends and developing new strategies around those trends
- Communicating to internal stakeholders on the profitability of the portfolio
- Providing superior customer service to brokers and clients
- Attend client/broker meetings, presentations, and relevant industry events on behalf of the company
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in the power and renewable energy property insurance market
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- Advanced technical knowledge of the power and renewable energy space including Gas and Steam Turbine, Wind, Solar and Battery Storage
- Ability to rapidly evaluate, prioritize and select submissions to be underwritten
- Ability to analyze policy wordings
- Demonstrated knowledge of current market conditions, trends
- Relationships with tier 1 and 2 brokers and the ability to develop new relationships
- Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time
