About the role
- Provide day‑to‑day BAU support across the AVD environment, including FSLogix, session hosts, image management, and troubleshooting.
- Manage AVD configuration through Intune/Endpoint Manager and Group Policy, covering app deployment, compliance, updates, and patching.
- Monitor and maintain environment performance, health, and capacity, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
- Lead knowledge transfer to Cloud, EUC, and Support teams, producing documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
- Review and optimise AVD architecture, image strategy, scaling, and security posture, identifying opportunities for performance, cost, governance, and automation.
- Collaborate with Cloud Architects, Engineering Leads, and Security teams, contributing to technical recommendations and AVD roadmap planning.
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience designing, managing, and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop environments
- Deep knowledge of FSLogix, Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager, Azure AD / Entra ID, On‑prem Active Directory, Group Policy Management, Azure Networking, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, AVD Insights
- Demonstrable BAU support experience in enterprise cloud environments.
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and optimise existing AVD deployments.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring or upskilling technical teams.
- A self‑starter able to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple workstreams.
