About the role

  • Assist with management of the Quality Audit team including monitoring key metrics relating to productivity and staff utilization.
  • Oversee and/or provide education to coders and auditors as needed based on internal audit findings including identification of trends to improve coder and auditor quality.
  • Work collaboratively with Client Success Managers and Staffing Success Managers to identify the performance needs of coders and auditors to increase quality and productivity performance levels.
  • Evaluate education and internal technology to foster increased efficiency and optimized resource utilization surrounding compliance and focused quality audits.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to identify growth opportunities related to UASI’s Learning Management System and/or client education needs.
  • Leverage professional network and demonstrate expertise through market facing activities including professional organizations, speaking, or serving as a UASI Ambassador.
  • Support Sales team through creating Statement of Work descriptions and driving on-going business expansion related to UASI’s Education Tools including new service offerings, bootcamps, and compliance packages.
  • Manage the execution of UASI internal training programs for all coding types specifically professional fee and physician coding, CDI, and Denials Management.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to identify training needs and design/deliver programs to meet those needs.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in health information management or associate degree in health information technology with equivalent extensive management and consulting experience.
  • Expert level coding skills with Professional Fee and Physician Coding education strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing a client facing Learning Management System with the ability to create content based on client needs.
  • Previous experience in an education and/or quality role related to Coding, CDI, and Denials Management.
  • Strong industry knowledge and demonstrated subject matter expertise in mid-revenue cycle operations including HIM operations, coding, value-based care initiatives, denials management, and other key industry trends/drivers.
