Consultant

• Review and evaluate medical record documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and coding professionals to ensure appropriate clinical documentation.
• Identify opportunities for documentation improvement to support coding accuracy, reimbursement, and clinical outcomes.

CDI Consultant

Auditor

• Perform coding audits and reviews on a variety of professional fee record types including: Evaluation and Management, surgical CPT, hospitalist, annual well visits, inpatient pro-fee and outpatient pro-fee
• Perform coding audits and reviews on a variety of specialties, such as: Primary Care, ENT, Nephrology, Urology, Cardiology, Thoracic, Neurology, Emergency Department, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Behavioral Health, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology etc.
• Perform necessary research in order to provide the client with supportive regulatory and coding guideline documentation. Examples of this research include but is not limited to: Official Coding Guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid Claims Processing Manual, Office of Inspector General guidance, Local/National coverage determinations and transmittals, and National Correct Coding Initiatives
• Assist in the design and presentation of educational seminars to clients and staff
• Work with other members of the HIM Consulting Division on Senior Level Projects such as assessment and analysis, development of tools to assist in the audit process, development of education for staff, develop coding test material for applicants and develop coding content for short articles with coding advice for clients

Coding Auditor

• Senior Consultant Auditor positions at UASI allow HIM professionals to have the best of both worlds: a challenging opportunity to utilize and enhance current auditing/coding skills and the convenience of working from home.
• Perform coding audits on a variety of facility outpatient record types while working remotely from a home office.
• Flexible, detail-oriented, ability to work independently, be quality conscious and able to adapt well to change.

Outpatient Coding Auditor

• Perform inpatient coding audits and review services to client sites remotely from a home office
• Work with clients performing coding audit and/or review services on a variety of Inpatient facility record types
• Identify trends based on coding audit and review findings and formulate recommendations for corrective action plans
• Perform necessary research to provide to the client to support findings, including online searches, pulling CMS transmittals and program memorandums
• Provide in-service education to clients on specific coding trends identified, as requested
• Assist in the design and presentation of educational seminars to clients and staff
• Work with other members of the HIM Consulting Division on senior level projects such as ICD-10 assessment and analysis, development of tools to assist in the audit process, development of education for staff, develop coding test material for applicants and develop coding content for short articles with coding advice for clients
• Utilize UASI audit software and securely transfer files in compliance with HIPAA; finalize and present impartial audit findings

Inpatient Coding Auditor

• Utilize coding expertise to perform quality reviews on internal coders.
• Use audit tool to analyze quality results and track overall quality.
• Work with the Managers and Supervisors across Coding Solutions to perform coding quality audits on UASI Coders.
• Perform necessary feedback and research to Coders in response to coding questions.
• Provide education to Coders as needed based on audit findings.
• Identify trends and perform training to improve Coder quality.
• Work with Managers and Supervisors to identify performance needs of Coders and create training to increase performance levels.
• Comply with UASI’s policies regarding the use and disclosure of protected health information which includes accessing and using protected health information only to the extent necessary to fulfill the above-mentioned responsibilities.
