About the role
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Programming Department, aligning goals and processes with Aesir’s corporate objectives.
- Set the technical direction of projects to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with industry best practices.
- Oversee testing strategies (Unit, Smoke, Integration, Feature, and Functional Tests) to safeguard quality.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members; conduct regular feedback sessions, evaluations and 1:1s.
- Coordinate and collaborate closely with Art, Design, Tech-Art, and QA to integrate new features and enhancements.
- Initiate and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and stability within the Programming Department.
- Communicate proactively with management to ensure alignment of corporate objectives and departmental requirements.
- Ensure quality standards and timely delivery of programming tasks within the financial framework of the company.
- Drive adoption of effective technologies and best practices in Unreal Engine development.
- Plan and manage training and development measures to strengthen the team’s expertise.
- Develop and maintain frameworks to monitor and ensure technical quality.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in games and/or software engineering.
- Several years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Solid knowledge of C++.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a programming team, including setting goals, providing feedback and supporting professional growth.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and modern development workflows.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- High level of strategic thinking combined with hands-on technical skills to provide guidance and direction.
