About the role
- Develops, implements and maintains the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 requirements
- Drives continual improvement of the EMS
- Prepares documentation and procedures required to implement the EMS for construction works
- Works in collaboration with the Environment and Sustainability Manager and other relevant environmental advisors
- Ensures EMS documentation is kept up to date
- Monitors and coordinates EMS internal audits
- Implements and coordinates continual improvements to the EMS
- Prepares the EMS management review report
- Prepares and maintains all environmental management documents, procedures and forms
- Ensures environmental compliance is considered in project performance evaluations
- Ensures appropriate management of environmental non-conformities and observations within required timeframes
- Coordinates implementation of corrective and preventive actions to ensure effective management of environmental non-conformities and prevent recurrence
- Assists the communications team and the client in responding to complaints
- Monitors and analyzes various environmental performance indicators
- Documents all KPIs and project performance reports
- Plans internal and external audits and environmental compliance verifications, and serves as the primary contact for these audits
- Provides support to the environmental monitoring team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and/or Environmental Management, or a related discipline from a reputable, recognized university
- 3 to 5 years of experience in environmental management; experience in the construction sector is an asset
- Experience developing and implementing environmental management systems and programs in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 requirements
