About the role
- Prepares the tax provision analysis and calculation of the related deferred taxes on a quarterly basis
- Prepares the quarterly income tax projections and determination of federal and state estimated income tax payments
- Prepares the federal and state income tax returns relating to system affiliates and ensures the timely filing of all tax forms
- Partners with the management of real estate and personal property taxes system-wide
- Assists with review of PILOT agreements and completion of biennial tax exemption reports system-wide
- Performs tax research and analysis
- Prepares tax and AMT calculations for depreciation
- Serves as a key resource for all sales and use tax compliance system-wide
- Monitors updates to IRS rules and regulations and assists with evaluation of impact to the organization
- Coordinates federal and state audits, including income tax and sales and use tax audits
Requirements
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) issued by a State Board of Accountancy needs to be obtained within 1 year
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of income tax compliance, including FIN 48
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar products
- Knowledge of CCH ProSystems desired
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a changing environment and manage multiple projects with short deadlines
