About the role
- Lead conversations with founders, operators, and team leads
- Map out current workflows across departments (sales, ops, finance, marketing, etc.)
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and manual processes
- Determine what can be automated, augmented with AI, eliminated or simplified
- Evaluate opportunities across off-the-shelf tools and custom AI/agent-based solutions
- Produce a structured deliverable that includes current state workflow breakdown, identified automation opportunities, and a phased rollout implementation plan
- Collaborate with engineers/builders executing the work and adjust the roadmap as needed based on new insights
Requirements
- Experience in consulting, operations, product, or systems design
- Strong understanding of: AI tools (LLMs, agents, automation platforms)
- Workflow automation (Zapier, Make, APIs, etc.)
- Ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured plans
- Comfortable leading client-facing conversations
- Bonus Points: Experience building or implementing automations yourself; Background in startups, agencies, or operational roles; Familiarity with e-commerce, service businesses, or SMBs; Experience writing clear documentation / specs
