About the role
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of advertising sales representatives to achieve individual and team revenue goals
- Actively manage and grow a personal book of business consisting of key local and regional advertisers
- Develop and implement sales strategies and initiatives to drive new business and expand existing accounts
- Join sales reps on client meetings and calls to coach, support, and help close deals
- Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team success and identify areas for improvement
- Provide regular training, performance feedback, and professional development for team members
- Collaborate with the marketing, editorial, and digital teams to create cross-platform advertising solutions
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and insights to leadership
- Stay current with industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the company remains a leader in local advertising.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in advertising or media sales
- At least 1–2 years in a leadership or management role preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire, and hold a team accountable
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze data and KPIs to drive informed decision-making
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of digital advertising, print media, and integrated marketing campaigns preferred
- Experience with CRM platforms and sales tracking tools
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
