About the role
- Lead direct sales efforts for Holophane, American Electric Lighting, Cyclone Lighting and Acuity Brands controls within territory
- Own the sales process from prospecting through quoting, negotiation, and closing
- Engage with end users, specifiers, wholesalers, contractors, designers, architects, and engineers to specify products
- Ensure standards approvals are in place with appropriate institutions and owners
- Follow up on projects to secure contracts and provide post-sales support
- Research and recommend appropriate products for projects and applications
- Seek new clients and create demand; understand customer business and market trends
- Support local trade shows (exhibit, assembly, and disassembly) and coordinate with associates for feedback and support
Requirements
- College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
- 5–10 years of B2B field sales in lighting & controls (or closely related industrial/electrical solutions)
- Lighting and Controls industry experience an asset
- Experience quoting and negotiating projects
- Experience in solution selling and demand creation
- Ability to engage with end users, specifiers, wholesalers, and contractors
- Ability to travel in-territory on a daily basis
- Knowledge of French required for positions permanently located in Quebec (French-language training offered)
