About the role

  • Conduct cloud readiness assessments and create migration plans to facilitate smooth transitions to AWS.
  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on AWS, utilizing cloud-native technologies.
  • Support architecting and implementing large scale cloud-native data processing ETL workloads using AWS services
  • Provide SME recommendations for big data storing solutions, installations, and configurations while ensuring scaling needs.
  • Support database analysis, architecture, design, development, administration and capacity/storage, implementation, and operations of multi-terabytes scalable enterprise end-to-end backend database systems.
  • Provide expertise and support for migrations from on-premises computing infrastructure to AWS cloud ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and high availability.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for cloud application design, deployment, and optimization including through use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Engage with customers to gather requirements, understand their application architecture, and provide tailored cloud migration strategies and collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure the seamless deployment of applications and services.
  • Configure and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployment in the AWS environment
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to continually enhance our service offerings.
  • Lead and mentor team members in implementing cloud solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
  • Review security scans, accessibility audits, and performance testing to ensure full compliance with cybersecurity requirements; and, review results and provide mitigation or improvement plans where necessary and support the implementation of remediation activities to resolve and identified issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a strong focus on AWS services.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud-native applications.
  • Strong understanding of application migration strategies and tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of AWS services (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Athena, Redshift, SageMaker, QuickSight) and best practices.
  • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures.
  • Strong skills leveraging IaC developing automated deployment and orchestrations solutions using TerraForm, CloudFormation, and other scripting tools.
  • AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting federal government organizations and missions is highly preferred.
