About the role
- Lead & Develop Teams: Work in a collaborative Agile environment with US and India-based software engineers, engineering managers, UX designers, product managers, and product owners
- Manage and mentor teams of engineers, fostering their growth and maximizing their potential
- Actively participate in the hiring and retention of top talent
- Champion incident responses, service uptime, and on-call schedules for team service domains and their upstream/downstream dependencies
- Contribute Technical Excellence: Design, develop, and review code, setting a high standard for your teams.
- Contribute to the technical architecture of AI projects and the Acquia DAM codebase
- Work with your team to implement and document engineering best practices and standards
- Collaborate With Leaders: Partner closely with the product team to prioritize features, set quarterly OKRs, and advocate for the engineering team during release/sprint planning
- Collaborate with other engineering managers and product managers across the organization on business strategy and project management
- Engage with various disciplines within the organization, including professional services, sales consultants, product management, and executive management
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in managing a fully remote engineering team
- Total 8+ years of experience and 5-10 years of hands on Java or Python software development experience, with a strong preference in candidates proficient in both
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g. Bedrock, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, etc…)
- Experience building Microservices and RESTful APIs
- Intermediate SQL expertise & hands on experience with both relational databases and NoSQL databases (e.g. MySql, Postgresql, Snowflake, Opensearch, DynamoDB, etc..)
- Experience writing automated tests
- Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, ArgoCD)
- Experience with Agile (e.g. Scrum)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field
